They're all acting like something has gotten into them. Reporter (female): You've already noticed, right? All the mess that's going on downtown. Helicopters have been assigned to us for surveillance. We assume the rioters' goal is to get a response from the government. The latest news from Raccoon City: groups of rioters have gathered in different neighborhoods. Raccoon City, a city where peace once reigned, has become a hostage to fear. These incidents are of great concern to the citizens. Reporter: In a series of attacks that have been going on for some time, the injuries are getting more and more serious. Getting materials for experiments became too difficult, so I had no choice. I had to sacrifice a lot of people in this motel. The most important thing right now was finding a cure for Hilda. However, what's the point of research if no one even knows about it? Shit, that's not what I'm thinking about! I've been thinking about myself. Nick: Day after day, I continued my experiments. That's why we've been working hard to find a cure. As a scientist, I knew exactly what would happen to anyone infected with the virus. What would happen to us after that? I think Hilda had realized by then what she'd gotten herself into. Already here, Hilda began to show symptoms of infection. So taking advantage of the commotion, Hilda and I were able to escape. At that point, all thoughts were on survival. Because of the unfortunate sanitary conditions, "it" got out. On one such day, there was an accident in the research center. Under tight control, we continued our research. Eventually they lost their minds, after which the infection reached a terminal stage: hunger took over. When it entered the body, the test subjects had an unusual reaction. However, it was too late we were deeply entangled in it all, and the way back was cut off. At first we did experiments with a small number of cells, but over time subjects began to participate in the experiments. We were working on something unimaginable. But the virus we were studying was not as simple as it seemed. I had no suspicions, since the company is positioned as a pharmaceutical company. Nick: At Umbrella, I was doing research on a certain virus. I thought once I got here it would all be over. Another strange body has been found, making it the 20th in a short space of time. Newspaper: Mysterious incident in Raccoon City. For some reason "Training Ground" contain subtitles for all release scenarios and this one. Subtitles for this scenario can be found in NETBIO00.DAT\\dm024.bin. 3.1.3 Alternative Scenario Ending Music.A standalone expansion titled Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 was later released featuring five new chapters, but the missing eight never saw the light of day. The game was planned to feature over 18 chapters, but the finalized version ended up having just five. The lack of voice chat was a deliberate feature to keep you immersed into the world without having some brat ruin everything by screaming for chocolate milk on his mic. It was notably the first game in the series to feature online multiplayer, unless you were one of those unlucky chaps playing the European version and had to settle with just A.I.-controlled dummies as a backup (not that it matters anymore, since the official servers have been discontinued long ago). It was released at a time when Resident Evil 4 was supposed to be made exclusively for GameCube, so they got around that arrangement by making this one a spinoff. Resident Evil: Outbreak is a side-entry in the Resident Evil series for the PlayStation 2 set during the same time period as the original trilogy focusing on another band of survivors of the T-virus outbreak in Raccoon City.
